Nuggehalli

On the Cannarayapatna - Tiptur road has been existing eversince the time before the Hoysala. There are two Hoysala style temples here. Of them the Kaesava Temple is famous. This has been recognised as Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. This is a trikoota temple in which the middle sanctuary is of Sree Kaesava. That to the left of it is of Sree Lakshmi Narasimha, and the other, to the right, is of Sree Venugopal. One common Navaranga belongs to all the three sanctuaries. On the out side walls the Hoysala features of sculptural bands are surmounted by the carvings of gods and demi gods. Among them the images of Vishnu Caturvimasti and those of other deities can be noticed. The shikharas over the top of the three sanctuaries are attractive. This temple is supposed to have been built in 1164 AD.

Near this temple is the attractive Sivalaya sheltering the "Sadashiva Lingam". This is said to have been built in 1249 AD.
